5 x 500g Self raising Flour 3 cups Sugar 2 tsp Salt 500g Margarine –melted and cooled 1l Buttermilk 3 Eggs Sift the dry ingredients. Mix the margarine, buttermilk and eggs, and add this to the dry ingredients. Knead the dough until your hands are clean and it forms one large ball. Bake in 3 large bread pans that have been oiled. Put the dough in the pans and cut into blocks. Bake for 1 hour at 180°C. Test with a baking pin if it is cooked. Take out and turn out on wire rack. Break into rusks on the cutting lines. Dry for about eight hours at 50°C.
